Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Dynamic Ceramics is primarily an educational art studio. We focus mainly on after-school, special event and summer enrichment programs. In addition, we assist schools, non-profits and other organizations plan and execute successful fund-raising campaigns. Below you will find answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you have a question that is not answered here, please do not hesitate to e-mail us.

Thank you!

  1. Do you have walk-in traffic or open studio hours? Unfortunately, due to our staff being off-site conducting after-school and other educational classes, it is not possible for us to offer walk-in service for the general public.

  2. How much do your after-school programs cost? No one program fits all budgets so it really depends on your particular budget. We have the flexibility to customize different types of programs to fit within most budgets. For example, we can offer a one-day event or a multiple-week program. We also offer programs for special events and holidays. Let us know your budget and we can put together a program that you will be able to afford.

  3. Do you offer events for private groups? Yes.

  4. What is the cost for a private group to paint at the studio or have you bring the party to us? We have a $300 minimum for on-site (at our studio) events and a $350 minimum for off-site (at a locating of your choosing) events. The off-site fee may be higher depending on your location. The fee also includes 2 hours of “studio” time.

  5. What sort of groups do you entertain at the studio or off-site? We work with all types of corporations, destination management companies, scout troops, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, wedding and baby showers, church and synagogue groups, youth groups, parent groups, play groups and the like.

  6. Do you offer fundraising opportunities? Yes. Please see our page on Fundraising for additional information.

  7. What types of art do you teach? We teach clay hand-building, mosaics, mold-pouring and painting.

  8. How much advanced notice is required? Because we schedule some of our events weeks, months and even as much as a year in advance, it’s best to give us as much notice as possible. But if you’re in a time-crunch, don’t worry. We’ll do our best to accommodate you and your group.

  9. Do you require a deposit for private groups? Yes. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit. This amount will be deducted from your entire invoice. For example, if your invoice is $350, we would require a $150 deposit prior to the event. After your event, you would owe a balance of $200 ($350-$150 = $200). If you do not show up for the event and/or do not give us at least a 48-hour notice that you need to re-schedule, you forfeit your deposit. We have this policy because if you cancel last-minute, it doesn’t provide us enough time to fill that spot we reserved especially for you and your group.

  10. What type of ceramics do you offer? We have a wide selection of bisque (pre-fired ceramics) pieces from which to choose, including plates, mugs, bowls, candle holders, cookie jars and figurines.

  11. What does the price include? The price includes the ceramics, paints, glazes and kiln firings. It also includes 2 hours of studio time. Additional time is billed separately.
